Segenhoe Stud, a leading thoroughbred breeding and spelling operation in the Upper Hunter Valley, NSW Australia is seeking a competent and experienced assistant yearling manager to join our team

Young Horse Trainer/ Yearlings

Duties will include:

• Training and preparing horses for major sales
• Handling, exercising and caring for horses
• Teaching horses to be groomed and accept bridle, head collar, rug etc.
• Teaching horses to walk, stand and parade correctly
• Parade and caring for horses at sales
• Overseeing daily care and supervision of horses
• Re-educating horses to resolve problems such as biting and kicking

The successful applicant will have a minimum of three years full time professional experience in the day to day managing, handling, care and education of thoroughbred yearlings, prior sales experience as well as the ability to work unsupervised and in a group environment.   Previous experience supervising a small team is desirable.

An approachable enthusiastic manner with the ability to fit into a dedicated team is essential.

The salary package will reflect skills and experience along with accommodation supplied by the farm and will be in the range of $50,000 to $55,000 per annum.
