Description
We’re seeking a reliable, experienced horseperson to join our Scone stable in a full-time stablehand role. This position is suited to someone with solid racing stable experience who is looking to build a long-term career with Archibald Racing. It includes afternoon shifts and full weekend work.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a high standard of daily horse care
- Attend race days and barrier trials
- Clean boxes, barns, and yards
- Monitor horse health (e.g. taking temperatures)
- Prepare horses for trackwork
- Manage feeding, hay, and water
- Transport horses to and from the racecourse
- Load and unload walkers
- Maintain tack, rugs, and stable equipment
Requirements
- Proven experience in a racing stable
- Committed to a long-term role and career progression
- Able to work afternoons and full weekends
- Provide a current CV and contactable references
- Must hold valid working rights (no sponsorship available)
This role is not suited to short-term applicants or those seeking temporary/backpacker-style work.
