We are seeking a passionate, community-minded Participant Wellbeing Officer to provide practical wellbeing support and connect racing participants and their families with services, resources and referral pathways that help them thrive.
This role plays an important part in strengthening Racing Victoria's wellbeing and welfare support across regional Victoria, with a particular focus on the North and North-West regions of the state. It is offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract, working 15.2 hours per week.

About the Role
This position suits someone who enjoys working autonomously, building community connections and travelling throughout regional Victoria. Through regular visits to racing and training locations, you will build trust, identify wellbeing needs, provide early support and connect people with specialist services.
You will also work with industry stakeholders to raise awareness of wellbeing resources, develop local support networks and strengthen participant wellbeing across the industry.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Deliver wellbeing outreach services at racetracks and training locations across Victoria.
- Provide brief assessments, support, information and referrals to participants and their family members.
- Support individuals to access specialist services and advocate to reduce barriers to care.
- Build strong relationships with community organisations and wellbeing service providers.
- Facilitate wellbeing education sessions, workshops, breakfasts and community engagement activities.
- Identify emerging participant wellbeing needs and contribute to tailored support initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records, reporting and case documentation.
- Contribute to program evaluation and continuous improvement activities.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen wellbeing outcomes across the racing industry.
About You
We are looking for someone compassionate, adaptable and confident supporting people from diverse backgrounds.
You'll bring:
- A minimum Diploma qualification in a relevant health, wellbeing or community services field.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing complex or multiple wellbeing needs.
- Knowledge of mental health, alcohol and other drug support services, and community-based intervention approaches.
- Strong relationship building and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent communication, case management and documentation capabilities.
- The ability to work independently while remaining connected to a broader team.
- A genuine commitment to improving the wellbeing of racing participants and their families.
- Qualifications in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Counselling or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
