FULL TIME STUD HAND

MAKYBE Racing & Breeding is currently looking for a full-time Stud Hand to join the team. The main responsibility of this role is to care for a select group of thoroughbreds that reside on the property.

To be successful in this role you will have a minimum of two years’ experience in handling bloodstock and be able to perform the following tasks, on a seven-day roster.

• Monitor wellbeing of bloodstock including broodmares, foals, weanlings, yearlings & racehorses
• Weaning of foals
• Assist the stud vet and farrier
• Clean and maintain stables
• General property maintenance eg. mowing and maintaining paddocks to an acceptable standard

It is essential that you have an understanding of OH&S practices along with a current manual driver’s licence.

The position is based at MAKYBE, 38 Gnarwarre Road, Gnarwarre. Victoria (near Geelong).
