Pakenham Racing Club (PRC) has a great reputation in the thoroughbred racing industry for the high standard of racing and training surfaces.

Working closely with the Manager Tracks we’re on the lookout for an experienced professional to be responsible for the daily preparation and care of the clubs racing and training Turf surfaces and demonstrating strong teamwork within the organisation.

You will be a hands on, highly motivated individual who takes pride in high quality work.  You’ll be focused on the daily maintenance of the course proper, the turf training track and the soon to be constructed uphill turf training track.  In total, the PRC will soon have 15ha of turf tracks to care for.  You’ll work very closely with the team to ensure that PRC continues to deliver quality racing and training surfaces to the industry.

Some of the Skills & Experience we want you to have include

• A qualification in turf management is essential. If you’ve had experience in this field, then we want to talk to you.
• Strong knowledge and experience in agrichemical and fertiliser application and irrigation use and maintenance is essential.
• A strong understanding of the machinery used in the curation of the racing and training and/or sports turf surfaces.
• Knowledge of equine racing and training surfaces of the industry is desirable but not essential. We can help you transition from sports fields or golf course management (or other similar turf management areas).
