An opportunity exists for a motivated and reliable person to join Kavanagh Racing as a Truck Driver & Stablehand.
This hands-on role is ideal for someone with horse experience who enjoys working as part of a team. The position involves transporting horses to the races and between properties as well as representing the stable on race days and general stable duties.
Responsibilities will include:
- Driving and maintaining horse transport vehicles.
- Transporting racehorses safely to race meetings and various properties.
- Saddling horses on race days
- Assisting trainers at race meetings and representing the stable if trainers cannot attend.
- Loading and unloading horses.
- Feeding, grooming, washing and rugging horses.
- Maintaining stable facilities.
- Monitoring horse health and reporting any concerns.
- General stablehand duties as required.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience handling thoroughbred horses.
- Current MR driver's licence
- Reliable, punctual and able to work within a team environment.
- Willingness to work early mornings, weekends and race days.
- Commitment to horse welfare and stable safety standards.
- Previous industry and race day saddling experience is advantageous
