We are looking for motivated team players to join our small to medium Scone based training facility. With approximately 18 horses in training the emphasis is on developing the young horses which are reared on farm as well as racing on with the older stock. Riding experience essential and ability to ride fast work at the Scone race track and slow work on our home sand track provides variety in a relaxed environment.
Good time keeping and a willingness to be part of a smaller team where the ability to carry out instructions is essential.
The option to agist your own horse or train a couple on site is negotiable for the right applicant.
Accommodation is available also off site 7 minutes from the farm.
An hourly rate or weekly wage of $1000- $1300 for full time depending on ability is negotiable with estimated hours currently in winter 7:00 to 11:30 Monday to Saturday but days and hours can be discussed.
If you are available for casual riding a few days a week this can also be provided with $50/hour for quality riders. We choose to pay by the hour or a salary rather than per horse as we spend more time working each horse than some would be used to in a track based job. Thus, If you are currently working earlier on track we would be happy to offer extra riding on a per hour basis as stated above.
There would also be an earlier start at the track on one to two mornings a week for gallops when needed.
