B2B Thoroughbreds, a boutique breeding farm located in the Southern Highlands, Mittagong NSW is currently seeking highly experienced and capable Stud Hand to join our team on a full-time basis.
An opportunity exists for the right applicant to join a dedicated professional team & be responsible for daily site operations and assisting co-stud hands whilst gaining knowledge & skills in all aspects of the breeding industry.
Daily duties will include (but not limited to):
- Horse Handling Generally
- Horse Husbandry
- Monitoring & Reporting Mares in Foal (During & After Hours)
- Assisting in the Foaling down process (Foal Watch)
- Apply treatments & administer medications
- Assisting with vetting
- Assisting with the farrier
- Working with Foals, Weanlings
- Yearling Handling & Preparation
- Attending Sales
- Farm & Stable Duties Generally
- Work Health & Safety Duties
Key skills & experience required include:
- Stable Hand courses and accreditation would be of great benefit
- Extensive knowledge and experience within the industry
- Able to work day, night shifts & weekends
- Able to travel during sale seasons
- Strong work ethic and thrives when working within motivated teams
- Strong leadership skills
