About Us

The Cranbourne Pakenham Racing Club is actively seeking a highly motivated and ambitious individual to assume the role of Racecourse Manager - Pakenham. In this capacity, you will lead all facets of the training and racing surfaces at Pakenham Racecourse in Tynong. This includes the management of sand training tracks, synthetic training and racing tracks, as well as turf training and racing tracks. The Opportunity

As the Racecourse Manager at Pakenham, you'll play a crucial role in leading a team responsible for maintaining and preparing all surfaces for daily horse training and scheduled race meetings throughout each season. Your leadership will be essential in ensuring our facilities meet the high standards expected in the industry.

Your responsibilities encompass overseeing the team in delivering a comprehensive suite of high-quality services, including the provision of top-tier tracks for racing and training activities. Your paramount objective will be to maintain all tracks to meet the stringent Tier 1 standards outlined in Racing Victoria’s Tracks and Facilities Technical Guidelines. Moreover, you'll focus on ensuring the delivery of customer-centric, safe services tailored to the needs of trainers at the Pakenham racecourse.

Your efforts will play an instrumental role in providing a superior experience for our horses, trainers, and jockeys, as well as ensuring the continued growth of Pakenham. With a strong focus on data collection and scheduling, you'll prioritise and oversee all maintenance tasks using the Club's cutting-edge task management system. To excel in this role, a minimum of five years' experience in managing racing surfaces or sports turf management, or a related field is required. A profound understanding of the horse racing industry in Victoria and its relevance to a club environment is essential. Additionally, candidates should possess formal qualifications such as a Certificate III or Diploma in Horticulture or Turf Management. These qualifications and experiences are vital to ensuring the successful execution of responsibilities and the maintenance of high standards within the role of Racecourse Manager at Pakenham.
