- Assessing for issues, preparing, disinfecting, cleaning, and maintaining safe and comfortable stables and stalls.
- Preparing and providing feed and water according to the horse’s individual needs.
- Maintaining health and treatment records, along with treating minor injuries and reporting any serious conditions to veterinarians.
- Program appropriate exercise regimes and care to the individual horses.
- Organize transportation and movements of horses where need be.
- Communicate with owners and visitors in an appropriate manor, where regulations allow so.
- Be highly capable in handling and leading horses when need be.
- Grooming, bathing, and pulling manes and tails.
- Training horses to perform race day.
- Training horses to accept riders and grooms while in hand.
- Educating horses to be well disciplined and address behavioral issues.
- Be able to apply insecticides and other medications, when need be, to the appropriate horses.
Base Salary: $55,000 - $60,000 plus Superannuation
