Ground Staff - Immediate start available!

Toby Edmonds Racing is seeking Ground Staff to join our team on the Gold Coast!

Immediate start available. We are looking for enthusiastic and hardworking stable hands to join the team. Although previous racing experience is not necessary, the successful candidates must have had previous horse experience Duties include but not limited to:

• Cleaning stables and filling with shavings
• Grooming horses
• Putting horses on and off the walker
• Leading to and from the track
• Saddling horses
• Swimming horses
• Attending trials & race days

Essential Skills –

• Enthusiastic & willing to learn
• Prior horse handling experience
• Extreme attention to detail
• Reliable and punctual
• Able to work in a team
• Communication skills

Highly regarded but not essential –

• Previous stable hand experience
• Able to carry out basic treatments
• Treadmill operating experience
• Work with stable vets, farriers, dentist, chiro & acupuncturist to manage the ongoing welfare of our horses
• The ability to drive a horse truck
• Race day experience representing a stable
• Maintain horse records in line with the rules of racing

Immediate start is available- The successful candidate must also be able to work on a rotating roster system which includes weekends and afternoon shifts. Approx hours – Mon – Sat (Mornings): 3am – 9am Mon – Sun (Afternoons): 2pm- 4.30pm Sunday (Mornings): 5am – 8.30am   Great opportunity for interstate candidates to enjoy the beautiful QLD climate!
