Bellbird Park Victoria is a thoroughbred spelling and rehabilitation farm servicing Cranbourne trainers with its great location to Cranbourne Racecourse.
We are seeking a Farm Manager with the following skillset.
- Extensive vet nursing experience or higher, comfortable with IV/IM injections, bandaging wounds and administration of oral meds.
- Familiar with MYOB accounting software.
- Professional horse handling skills, able to handle colts and young/strong horses.
- Farm Maintenance experience, able to safely operate mower, chainsaw and tractor for high standard of property upkeep.
- Professional eye for detail.
- Truck License would be looked on favourably .
The Manager would be responsible for the day to day running of the farm such as
- horse movements and liaising with trainers
- managing hospital discharges and vet reports
- horse medications
- staff delegation
- managing dietary requirements of horses spelling or in confinement.
- managing horses in confinement box and yard rest.
- data entry and monthly invoicing.
- social media and owner updates.
- managing farriers/vets & dentists.
- the general upkeep of the farm.
This position would ideally suit a couple that could cover every component of the skills and experience required to manage a successful operation. The position comes with 3 bedroom home and competitive salary.
