FARM HAND– NORTHWOOD PARK
Godolphin is one of the largest thoroughbred breeding and racing entities in the world. Encompassing seven countries and two hemispheres. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Farm Hand to join our team at Northwood Park near Seymour, Victoria.
Reporting to the Farm Manager, this position is responsible for working across all areas of the stud farm, assisting in farm and pasture management, feeding and raising of livestock and general farming operations.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Operate and monitor irrigation system including repositioning and basic maintenance
- Undertake routine pasture maintenance operations including topping, slashing, spraying, sowing and fertiliser application
- Farm machinery operation including tillage, sowing, and spraying
- Provide daily care of cattle including feed and water, movements, injury recognition and general animal husbandry.
- Perform routine maintenance of buildings, fencing, machinery, irrigation units and other equipment.
- Implementation of Safe Work Practices, upholding workplace safety standards, following procedures including reporting
- Comply with company policies, procedures and industry requirements relating to WHS
Criteria:
- Travelling irrigator experience preferred but not essential
- Previous experience within the farming industry will be highly regarded
- Awareness and confidence to work with and around livestock
- Experience in the safe operation of farm machinery
- Well organised, well presented and a confident team player
- A proven track record of punctual and reliable work attendance
