We are looking for experienced stablehands to join our team at Mornington. We are seeking people with prior experience – this is not a position for learners or beginners.
Key duties include:
- Hosing horses after trackwork
- Swimming horses
- Mucking out boxes
- Providing feed, hay and water
- Trotting up horses for the trainer and vet
- Raceday attendances when required
- General yard and barn maintenance (sweeping, tidying etc.)
Working hours:
- Monday to Saturday mornings: 5:00am – 10:30am
- Sunday mornings: 7:00am – 10:30am
- Afternoons: 2:30pm – 4:30pm (daily)
- Roster includes rotating Sundays off
Wages are paid above Award rates.
Important notes:
- We do not provide accommodation. This is a commutable position only (suitable for those already living within a reasonable daily travel distance to Mornington).
- We are not seeking applicants on Working Holiday Visas who need this role to count towards the 88 days regional/specified work requirement.
