The Role
We are seeking a highly capable Digital Platforms Specialist to take responsibility for the ongoing management, improvement and delivery of Racing Australia's digital platforms, online experience, communications channels and key digital assets.
This is a diverse standalone specialist role combining digital platform management, website administration, stakeholder engagement, digital communications, analytics and graphic design.
You will work closely with business stakeholders, the Product Owner – Industry Platforms, developers, testers, infrastructure teams and external vendors to deliver effective digital outcomes.
This role would suit an experienced Digital Coordinator, Web Coordinator, Digital Specialist or similar professional looking to step into a broader responsibility role — taking responsibility for digital platforms, communications channels and digital experiences while working within a collaborative technology environment.
This is not a software development role or a traditional marketing role. It is suited to someone who enjoys operating between business and technology — understanding user needs, coordinating delivery and ensuring digital experiences remain modern, effective and aligned with Racing Australia's objectives.
What makes this role different
- You will be responsible for the day-to-day management, continuous improvement and delivery of Racing Australia's digital platforms and communications channels.
- You will ensure digital experiences align with Racing Australia's broader business strategy, brand direction, industry objectives and stakeholder expectations.
- This is a standalone specialist role. While you will work closely with developers, testers, infrastructure engineers, business stakeholders and external vendors, you will not have a dedicated digital team reporting to you.
- Success in this role comes through collaboration, initiative and hands-on delivery rather than managing a team.
- You will work closely with the Product Owner – Industry Platforms to ensure digital products, user experience and communications align with organisational priorities.
- You will manage and continuously improve Racing Australia's websites, digital channels and communication platforms.
- You will create and manage high-quality digital and corporate design materials, ensuring consistency with Racing Australia's brand and modern design principles.
- You will play a key role in improving how Racing Australia presents itself digitally to industry participants and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
You'll work across:
- WordPress and custom CMS websites.
- Digital platform enhancements and website improvements.
- Website content management and publishing.
- Email marketing and customer communications platforms.
- SMS communication platforms.
- Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager.
- SEO and website optimisation.
- Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator).
- Corporate publications including the Racing Australia Fact Book and Annual Report.
- Digital design assets including website banners, email templates, email signatures, presentations and marketing collateral.
- Jira, Agile delivery processes and API integrations.
Your Responsibilities will include
- Manage the ongoing improvement and operation of Racing Australia's digital platforms and online services.
- Manage website content, templates, forms, navigation and digital publishing.
- Gather requirements, coordinate enhancements and work with developers and testers through delivery.
- Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet business needs.
- Manage digital communications including email campaigns, customer journeys and SMS messaging.
- Monitor analytics and identify opportunities to improve engagement, performance and user experience.
- Create digital and corporate design materials including:
- Website graphics and banners.
- Email designs and communication assets.
- Reports, presentations and publications.
- Marketing collateral.
- Coordinate the design and production of key publications including the Racing Australia Fact Book and Annual Report.
- Ensure all digital outputs align with Racing Australia's brand standards, design principles and broader business objectives.
- Maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders, developers, testers and external partners.
What We're Looking For
You are someone who:
- Has experience managing websites, digital platforms or online communication channels.
- Enjoys working across both business and technology teams.
- Can translate business needs into practical digital solutions.
- Is comfortable coordinating external vendors.
- Has strong attention to detail and takes pride in producing high-quality digital outputs.
- Has strong visual design capability and understands modern digital design principles and user experience.
- Keeps current with modern digital design trends, visual communication practices and user experience principles.
- Can create professional digital assets while maintaining brand consistency.

- Is comfortable working independently, managing priorities and driving outcomes.
- Could currently be working as a Digital Coordinator, Web Coordinator, Digital Specialist or similar role and is ready to step into greater responsibility and influence.
Ideally, you'll bring experience with
- Digital platform management or digital product delivery.
- WordPress and/or custom CMS platforms.
- HTML and CSS.
- Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager.
- SEO practices.
- CRM and email marketing platforms (such as Mailchimp).
