We now seek a Casual or Part-Time Stablehand to join our team.
Stablehands perform general stable duties under the direction of our Assistant Trainer to prepare horses in the morning for track work. Swimming, tacking, washing and feeding horses is part of the morning routine. In the afternoon, horses are walked, rugged and taking for a swim, and feeds and waters replenished.
Raceday duties are shared amongst our team and depend on experience level.

Quality gallopers have been trained out of the Blackiston Racing stable, led by Group One winners Littorio and Suavito.
In 2019, the stable relocated to Ballarat to provide the very best training facilities for horses under our care.
Nigel's training philosophy revolves around his desire to realise each horse's maximum potential in their own time. Nigel and Susanna consider the welfare of each horse in training, spelling and retired, and the safety of their staff and riders, as their number one responsibility. This underpins all policies and procedures in the stable
ABOUT YOU
You will currently be licensed with Racing Victoria or be eligible to be licensed by completing the mandatory Handle Horses and Follow OHS Procedures training units. We really need you to be proficient and safe with horse handling.
Perhaps you have recently left the industry or maybe you are studying part-time? Whatever the reason, we welcome you to work as much or as little as you like. You can pick your days and hours. We want you to have some flexibility.
