The Australian Jockeys Association:
- is a key stakeholder in the Australian Horse Racing Industry
- promotes the professional interests, safety, health and wellbeing of Australia’s 850 Jockeys, with a focus on issues of national importance
- provides high-level support to State/Territory Jockey Associations
The CEO will:
- report to the Chairman and Board of the Australian Jockeys Association
- develop and implement programs and services that enhance the safety, working conditions, remuneration and wellbeing of Australia’s Jockeys
- promote and protect the rights and welfare of Australia’s Jockeys
Key Responsibilities:
- work with the Board to set and deliver the strategic direction of the organization
- strengthen relationships with State and Territory Jockey Associations, Racing Australia, State and Territory Racing Authorities, Government, and Racing Industry Regulatory bodies.
Governance
- develop all functions of the organization within the established policy framework and in accordance with the authority delegated by the Board.
Financial Management
- be accountable for the development of an annual budget and monitoring the ongoing financial performance of the organization
- ensure the Board is informed in a timely manner of any variances to budgeted income or expenditure
People Management
- lead a small, dedicated team committed to achieving best possible outcomes
- implement flexible and productive work practices that create a positive, responsive and effective team culture

- is technologically proficient
Professional Qualifications
- a Degree in Commerce/Business preferred but not essential
Remuneration and Benefits
- An all-inclusive remuneration package of circa $120,000 - $130,000 (inclusive) p.a. will be provided for the successful applicant
