Yulong Stud, located in Nagambie, Victoria, is seeking a suitably experienced person to join our team as an Assistant Stud Manager.
Your duties and areas of expertise will include but not be limited to:
- Support for our Stud Manager in all day-to-day operations of a busy breeding farm,
- Assist in the management of staff under the direction of the Stud Manager, and obtain clear and precise communication skills,
- Sound understanding of the broodmare reproductive system to facilitate the organisation and record keeping involved with vetting during the breeding season,
- Solid organisation, and planning skills,
- An understanding of foal conformation and corrective farrier work,
- Ability to work within a team as well as independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in horse nutrition and pasture management highly regarded.
- Ability to positively encourage staff and educate them about horse care.
To be successful, you must demonstrate:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role,
- Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks,
- Excellent work ethic and can-do attitude with attention to detail,
- Be approachable, and have a desire to achieve great results,
- A current driver’s licence, truck licence desirable,
- Computer literacy; experience with using Ardex, Excel and Word
This is a full-time position ideally suited to someone who is looking for a long-term commitment to a growing brand. A generous remuneration package is available for the successful applicant, dependant on experience.
