Essential Skills: All applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of full time professional experience in the role and be able to prove you are a reliable worker with excellent skills. In addition, the following skills will be required: Knowledge & experience of horse training & handling methods specific to thoroughbred racing & breeding; proven ability to train and educate young horses; oral & written communication skills to a level to take instructions & provide information; ability to work in a team & independently; sound knowledge of health & safety obligations & demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to training & preparation of racehorses. Desirable Qualification: A Certificate III or equivalent International qualification.

Description

Woodpark Stud is seeking a highly experienced Young Horse Trainer/Rider to join us in the Southern Highlands of NSW. Position is full-time with early morning starts & requires working on weekends on a roster. Applicants should be able to ride 6 - 10 horses per morning & should have experience riding fast & timed work. Experience handling & training breeding and young stock would be an advantage. Salary will be above award (range of $60,000 to $70,000 per annum) depending upon skill level. Accommodation may also be offered.
