Dartbrook Equine Veterinary Clinic Pty Ltd, is seeking applications for the following full-time role for a fixed-term 12-month contract:
Duties will include:
- Emergency and elective surgeries
- Emergency caesareans
- Lameness x-rays and examinations
- Radiography and endoscopy
- Reproductive examination for breeding
- Pre-Breeding laboratory sample collection and interpretation
- Antenatal examinations of broodmares, specifically ultrasound examination of mare's placenta and fetal well being
- Post-natal examinations and care of broodmares
- Newborn foal examinations and insurances
- Stallion fertility and health examinations and insurances
- Yearling upper airway endoscopy
- First opinion caseloads that include minor surgical procedures, medical illnesses and emergencies, and basic animal husbandry
Essential Criteria
- Veterinary Degree
- Registration with New South Wales Veterinary Board
- A minimum of four years’ experience of equine breeding
- Knowledge and experience specific to thoroughbreds
- Knowledge of safe operation of all equipment and use of personal protective equipment
- Sound knowledge of health and safety obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to breeding horses
The salary for this role will be between $75,000 and $85,000 p.a.
