TRACK MANAGER
Mount Gambier Racing Club Inc
The Mount Gambier Racing Club Inc is currently seeking a full time Track Manager to join our team.
This role is responsible for leading the management, preparation and maintenance of both the racing (turf) and training (turf and sand) tracks along with the upkeep of the club’s grounds and facilities. This involves delivering a first class racing surface in accordance with Thoroughbred Racing SA standards.
Suitable candidates must have a strong and pro-active work ethic, exceptional time management, communication and leadership skills. Applicants must have proven experience in maintaining race tracks, develop, plan and report trackwork and maintenance programs. An understanding of sand based tracks and Toro NSN sprinkler systems will be highly regarded. Formal qualifications in Turf Management or a Horticulture related discipline is preferred. Significant relevant industry experience will be well regarded.
Applicants must have proven staff management and planning skills to lead the club’s track team together with the ability to assist in maintaining and developing compliant WHS practices and procedures. Co-develop and be responsible for assigned budget. Experience in maintaining and operating machinery and attending to general maintenance duties is also preferred.
This is a full-time salaried position including some weekends and public holidays. The successful candidate will be provided with a competitive remuneration package including vehicle, phone and the opportunity to work in a diverse and exciting industry.
