Thoroughbred Manager

We are seeking a full-time, reliable and motivated Thoroughbred Manager for our property located in the Yarra Valley region. Immediate start.

About the role

Set in the Yarra Valley on a picturesque estate, we are a small family -run business with a passion for wine and horse racing.

We are seeking a motivated and hard-working full time Thoroughbred Manager for an immediate start to assist with the general day-to-day running of the property including supporting our horse programs.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Main duties and responsibilities are varied but include:

• Supporting our horse programs for Thoroughbreds, Mares, Yearlings and Weanlings including feeding and caring for the horses and maintaining their enclosures
• Property/grounds maintenance and upkeep
• Applying safety standards and effective work practices across all areas

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will ideally have:

• Previous experience working on a thoroughbred farm
• Experience with young thoroughbreds ( weanlings and yearlings)
• An understanding of feeding, caring and handling of horses
• Previous experience with property maintenance/farming operations
• A valid drivers licence

This is the perfect role for a person who enjoys a flexible approach to work duties and working in a 'hands-on' role.

Weekend work may be required.
