Thoroughbred Farm/Stable hand

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to join our team at Thompson Creek Thoroughbreds, a leading broodmare farm located in Modewarre (Geelong region), Victoria. Duties will include, but not limited to:

• Caring for mares, foals, weanlings and racehorses
• Handling foals and yearlings
• Assisting vets and farriers
• General stable duties – feeding, rugging, mucking out day yards and boxes, clean and maintain stables and equipment
• Administering medication, first aid or other treatment to horses when required

Previous experience with thoroughbreds is essential. Strong attention to detail and keen observation skills are a must. Candidates must be enthusiastic, good communicators, have good record keeping skills with a can do attitude and be able to work well in a small and dynamic team.

You will be working an hourly /  roster system for the remainder of the breeding season. Should you have interest in other areas of broodmare farm management work, a position may be available post foaling season.
