Stablehand Position Available - Late Starts, No Split Shifts - Ballarat

McEvoy Mitchell Racing is a leading Thoroughbred Racing Stable with state-of-the-art facilities in Ballarat, Victoria

We are seeing one experienced horseperson to join our Afternoon Team. Based ten minutes from Ballarat, responsible for the afternoon operations of a Thoroughbred Racing Stable, the successful candidate will appreciate great work-life balance with no split shifts.

Daily duties of the afternoon team include:

• Mucking out day yards and skipping out boxes
• General grooming duties
• Laundry duties
• Afternoon exercise – swimming, walking, treadmills
• Hay, feeding and rugging
• Internal movements
• Some race meetings if required

Working hours:

Monday to Friday, 10:30am to 5:30pm

Saturday 11:30am to 5:30pm

Sundays on a rotating roster - one in three.

The successful candidates will enjoy above award rates commensurate to their experience.
