STABLE HAND

Godolphin is one of the largest thoroughbred breeding and racing operations in the world with over 350 Group 1 wins in 14 countries since our inception.

We are looking for experienced Stable Hands to join our Osborne Park operation, located in Agnes Banks. Approximately one hour from Sydney, 20 minutes from Penrith and 10 minutes from Richmond.

Osborne Park is a state-of-the-art private training facility that is spread over a 126-acre property. We can accommodate 84 horses in training, split over 4 barns as well as 32 day yards, 27 large spelling paddocks, two horse walkers, a water walker, onsite vet room, rehabilitation barn with 8 boxes and 5 small yards. In addition, we have a private training track, which allows our staff to have a morning shift start time of 5.30am.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out daily stable tasks including; feeding, grooming, mucking out, rugging, trot ups, loading walker and water walker.
• Routine health checks, recognising signs of injury and or signs of an unhealthy horse and reporting concerns.
• Assisting with farrier, vet, physio, and dentist.
• Preparation of horses and gear for race meetings and trials as well as taking nominated horses to and from the races/trials.
• Leading assigned horses to and from trackwork.
• Comply with company polices, procedures and industry requirements relating to safety and animal welfare, including Rules of Racing.

We want a passionate, reliable, and hard-working person whose love and admiration for horses is as great as ours.

Criteria:

• Sound horse handling skills, with experience and confidence handling thoroughbreds in full training.
• Practical understanding of horse health care and welfare requirements, with prior experience providing direct daily care.
• Understanding of thoroughbred racing industry and operations, with understanding of racing stable operations.

Osborne Park offers Accommodation onsite to the right applicant for $63.00 a week!

The right applicant will have an opportunity to work with horses of the calibre such as: Hartnell, Alizee, Bivouac, Impending, Astern, Trekking, Osborne Bulls, Colette and Anamoe just to name a few.

Preferably, the applicant will be able to start as soon as possible.
