Stablehand

Peachester Lodge is a fully-equipped thoroughbred pretraining and spelling facility nestled in the gorgeous Sunshine Coast hinterland, and we are looking for our next gun Stablehand.

If you insist on leaving boxes neater than freshly-made beds, if you can wield a rake with surgical precision, if you can't stand an untidy walker at the end of shift and if you know there's no such thing as having too many horses in your day - then that Stablehand might just be you.

The successful applicant will:

• Muck out stables to an excellent standard
• Be responsible for the cleanliness and tidiness of the entire stable area, which includes sweeping, operation of a leaf blower, and basic gardening
• Be required to work weekends
• Be punctual and conscientious
• Be able to work unsupervised and as part of a team
• Be willing and able to take part in yearling education
• Be paid above award and, as such, be expected to bring value to the team

In addition, if you’re interested to learn the craft of horse handling, this role has plenty of scope for you to be trained up and develop a comprehensive skillset in the equine industry.
