Small racing stable requires staff member who has the following skill sets:
- Able dress in a tidy, presentable and professional manner always wearing appropriate safety equipment.
- Being in charge of day-to-day operations of racing stable. Directing other employees. Acting as trainer when lead trainer is absent and on race-day
- Discussing with the lead race horse trainer each horse's performance and any concerns with the fitness or training of the horse after each ride
- Training horses for competition under supervision of lead trainer
- Ride in races as required
- Exercise horses in the stable.
- All daily horse husbandry practices: grooming, clipping, feeding, watering, washing etc
- Assistance in the all treatment of horses. Ensuring the horses well-being and safety.
- Responsible for nutritional and mineral supplementation of race horses.
- Climate monitoring to determine the rug needs of each horse, putting on and taking of rugs as appropriate.
- Attending races on race days and managing horses on these days.
- Hold horses in preparation for farrier or vet services as required.
