The Opportunity

The SNS Stakes/QTIS Administrator role is responsible for processing the administration of the Queensland Thoroughbred Incentive Scheme (QTIS) and reconciliation of thoroughbred prizemoney through Racing Australia’s Single National System (SNS).

Reporting to the Senior Thoroughbred Racing Manager key accountabilities are timely and accurate prizemoney reconciliation and processing for the thoroughbred code in line with RQ policies and the timely processing of all administration functions in relation to QTIS. Key duties include:

  • The processing of all administration functions in relation to QTIS.
  • Reconciliation of thoroughbred race and trial results on a weekly basis, including arranging adjustments, checking QTIS eligibility, rider changes and inputting horse scratchings correctly.
  • Administering the prize money distribution for the thoroughbred code.
  • Preparing and processing QTIS renewals.
  • Ownership of QTISx processes and bonus/voucher distribution.
  • Assisting the marketing department by providing input into the content of QTIS promotional material.
  • Providing QTIS statistical analytical data to the Senior Racing Manager – Thoroughbred.

The Success Profile

  • A Certificate/Diploma in Administration and/or commensurate experience in a similar role.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office suite of products, i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • A sound knowledge of thoroughbred racing.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing administrative duties.
  • Ability to work autonomously and independently to meet goals and objective of multiple projects.
  • Ability to solve complex problems requiring consideration of a range of options.
  • Ability to prepare statistical reports.
  • Ability to discuss issues, reach agreement and influence others in the delivery of the SNS and implementation of QTIS.
  • Ability to recommend improvements to the SNS and QTIS and instruct other staff.
  • Ability to solve problems by applying known solutions and or interpreting relevant legislation, policies, procedures and standards.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external stakeholders and industry participants.
  • Ability to obtain the cooperation of others to comply with operational and administrative requirements.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the racing and/or wagering industry is desirable.
