Senior Stud Hand

A full time position has become available at Widden Stud in the picturesque Hunter Valley, NSW for an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated person to join our team as a senior stud hand.

The successful applicant will oversee our older foals, performing daily husbandry, feeding, assisting with veterinary and farrier work and all other associated tasks reporting to the Assistant Stud Manager.

The successful applicant must possess;

• The ability to work in a team environment as well as perform tasks independently to a high standard.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, as they will lead a team of employees who contribute to the overall running of our breeding program.
• Experience with young foals and mare reproduction, enabling them to confidently handle broodmares and foals.
• A strong work ethic with an eye for detail, to ensure the welfare of the team and bloodstock.
• An interest in the thoroughbred breeding industry.
