Sales Manager

Ballarat Turf Club (BTC) is a major regional thoroughbred racing club. BTC conducts 38 race meetings per year, has a busy thoroughbred training facility and conducts non-racing functions and events throughout the year.

BTC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced sales executive to fill the position of Sales Manager. Reporting directly to the CEO, the successful applicant will be required to:

1. Effectively manage all BTC Sponsors, including arranging sponsorship entitlements, negotiating sponsorship arrangements, communicating regularly with sponsors and ensuring sponsors gain maximum value for their support of the Club.
2. Achieve sponsorship sales for BTC in-line with budget.
3. Build and manage Club Membership. Assist in keeping BTC Members informed of Club progress, liaise with Members on race days, arrange Members' Functions and ensure Members  receive value from their annual subscription.
4. Encourage, secure and be instrumental in the sales and successful running of race-day functions, sponsor and members functions and non racing events.
5. Manage administration that relates to Sponsorship, Membership and related functions and events.
6. Write detailed monthly board reports, covering all aspects of progress relating to Sponsorship and Membership.

The successful applicant will possess:

A successful track record in a sales related field.

An understanding and appreciation of the racing industry.

A strong work ethic and be highly motivated.

Excellent communication skills.

Well developed I.T. skills, particularly with Microsoft Word, Excel and Publisher.

Capacity to work some weekends and flexible hours on week days.

An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
