Ridgmont Farm has an exciting opportunity for a Stud Hand and Farm Hand to join our team at our Segenhoe Road operation in the Hunter Valley, NSW. Due to a rapid growth on the farm we are now looking for 2 stud hands and a Senior Farm Hand as we continue to develop the property . The applicants need to be passionate, reliable, and driven with a positive attitude and willingness to go above and beyond in the role.
This position will be based across all our operations and will include all aspects of on farm duties. This will include working with yearlings, weanlings, and broodmares. Reporting to and learning from the Broodmare and Yearling Manager, the Stud Hand will be responsible for the general wellbeing and care of bloodstock, as well as the day-to-day routine of working in a busy stable environment.
There is ongoing development at the farm with the new property being the main source of activity. The projects underway include the development of a Foal precinct adjacent to current pre-foaling area, Irrigation upgrades and implementation on old farm, fencing, planting of trees along with the day to day activities of slashing, repairs and maintenance and much more.
