Sky Racing located in Frenchs Forest, is one of those recognised brands and we have a unique opportunity for an experienced Thoroughbred Race Caller to join our Sydney metro/provincial team.
How you will contribute
Reporting to the Channel Controller Sky Sports Radio, this role is primarily responsible for providing high quality, accurate and informative race calls at major thoroughbred racing venues in accordance with the Race Caller Guidelines.
Primarily your role will include providing race commentary for television and radio and to present race previews and selections for radio and television as required. This role will rely on your strong knowledge of racing form and key industry participants as you will be preparing, researching and presenting live racing broadcasts. Your understanding of betting updates, dividends and race form will ensure you succeed in this role, including providing our viewers with racing information pre and post-race.
Our Ideal Person
You will be working closely with our partners including individual racing clubs, racing administration bodies and racing participants including jockeys, trainers and owners. Your ability to forge strong relationships with your team including the Channels team will ensure the delivery of a superior and unique product. Also under this role you might be occasionally be asked to present shifts on Sky Racing.
As the successful applicant in this role you should possess the highest knowledge in thoroughbred racing plus the desire for harness and greyhound racing and coupled with at least 3 years minimum experience calling races in major areas. Professional standard television or radio presenting and commentating skills will be highly regarded. Other media experience such as reporting, producing or writing is desired.
