Role Summary

The Ownership Manager will develop and implement strategies to support the growth of ownership of racing animals in Queensland. This newly created role will support Racing Queensland’s strategic objective to create a sustainable racing industry in Queensland and to deliver on our vision to become the Number 1 sporting industry in the sunshine state.

The Opportunity

An amazing permanent opportunity for a dedicated and strategic professional to join the marketing team at Racing Queensland (RQ).   Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, the Ownership Manager has the primary responsibility for growing ownership across the three codes of racing in Queensland through the development and implementation of strategic initiatives, execution of commercial partnerships and building interest at key events to promote and grow ownership.

The Success Profile

  • Highly experienced in the ability to develop and implement marketing strategies and plans, managing and allocating budgets.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to manage and build effective and credible working relationships with stakeholders to build rapport and achieve buy-in and include strategic outcomes.
  • Ability to build and manage programs and projects, whilst working collaboratively with cross functional teams.
  • Demonstrated experience providing subject matter expertise in relation to trends and dynamics likely to impact owners, trainers and participants.
  • A tertiary qualification in Marketing Management/Public Relations/Communications or related field and/or commensurate demonstrated experience in a similar role is mandatory
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the racing industry is highly desirable

In addition to the above you will possess superior written and verbal communication skills with impeccable attention to detail, ability to manage completing and/or changing priorities and work well under pressure with tight deadlines and completing interests. Your values-aligned behaviours, ability to consult with stakeholders and obtain cooperation from others and demonstrated ability to use tact and diplomacy when managing conflict will underpin your success in this role.
