Tasracing Pty Ltd is seeking to appoint two (2) Non-Executive Directors (Commercial) to fulfil two up-coming vacancies on its Board.
Tasracing is the principal racing authority in Tasmania. A State Owned Corporation, Tasracing was established in 2009 under the Racing (Tasracing Pty Ltd) Act 2009 (Act) to oversee the operations and future development of the Tasmanian racing industry.
In accordance with the requirements of the Act, the Tasracing Board must comprise seven directors, made up of a Chairperson, three directors with experience and expertise in the three codes of racing, and three directors with the experience and expertise necessary to enable the Company to achieve its objectives.
It is expected that applicants will have board or senior executive experience and can demonstrate a thorough understanding of corporate governance as it applies to corporations and/or government businesses. Finance and accounting and strategic planning acumen is also essential. Graduate, Membership or Fellowship of the Australian Institute of Company Directors would be well regarded.
