Maintenance/Gardener Position

McEvoy Mitchell Racing is a leading Thoroughbred Racing Stable with state-of-the-art facilities in both Ballarat, Victoria and Angaston, South Australia.

We are seeking to appoint a Ballarat based Maintenance Worker/Gardener (full-time) who is self-motivated & delivers good workmanship. Previous experience in landscaping, farm work, mechanical repair or general maintenance would be looked upon favourably.

Tasks and responsibilities include

• Ensuring all areas of the property are maintained to a high standard.
• Landscaping, lawn mowing, hedging and garden maintenance.
• Controlling weeds by slashing or chemical spraying.
• Ensure plant and equipment are kept in good working
• Welding repairs and projects
• Fabrication projects
• Routine vehicle maintenance
• Commitment to safety, environmental and quality implementation. Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Skills in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
• Understanding of thoroughbred horses with some handling skills preferred.

The successful applicant will have knowledge of a variety of building maintenance procedures and techniques, as well as knowledge of machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for the maintenance and repair of property.
