Harness Racing New South Wales (HRNSW) conducts the commercial and regulatory functions of the harness racing industry in NSW. Operating under the Harness Racing Act 2009, HRNSW is chartered to operate autonomously of government in managing the strategic and commercial development of harness racing in NSW as a not-for-profit corporate body.

A full-time position exists for an Integrity Assistant/Administrative Steward located in Sydney.

Reporting to the Integrity Manager and Chairman of Stewards, this is a key position within the Integrity Department and will be involved in the day-to-day regulatory regime. The successful applicant will be required to undertake the following tasks:

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal & external stakeholders;
  • Assist with administrative requirements of the Integrity and Stewards Departments;
  • Assist with Licensing and Registration functions;
    Collect, analyse and review data, including betting information;
  • Assist in the preparation and implementation of policies and procedures;
  • Provide strategic support and advice to management;

This role may require work outside of normal business hours and may include working at night, weekends and public holidays.

The applicant should have the following knowledge, skills and qualifications:

  • Previous experience within a regulatory environment;
  • Commitment to highest standards of integrity and equine welfare;
  • Ability to work individually or as a team member, utilising excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Understanding or ability to acquire knowledge of relevant HRNSW Rules, policies and procedures;
  • Understanding of WH&S and risk management;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word & Excel;
  • Current driver’s licence- Travel may be required.
