Positions Vacant: Newhaven Park Stud is seeking applications for the following positions:
Horse Trainer/Breeding – Boorowa, NSW
Duties will include:
- Overseeing daily care and supervision of horses
- Foaling, including pre and post-natal care of broodmares and foals
- Assisting Veterinarians with ultrasound/reproduction examination including assisting in birthing foals and administering medical treatment to foals
- Monitoring mare ovulation and pregnancy
Young Horse Trainer/ Yearlings – Boorowa, NSW
Duties will include:
- Training and preparing horses for major sales
- Handling, exercising and caring for horses
- Teaching horses to be groomed and accept bridle, head collar, rug etc.
- Teaching horses to walk, stand and parade correctly
- Parade and caring for horses at sales
- Overseeing daily care and supervision of horses
- Re-educating horses to resolve problems such as biting and kicking
Essential Skills:
All applicants must have a minimum of 3 year full time professional experience in the role.
In addition, the following will be required:
- Proven ability to train and educate young horses
- Ability to work in a team and independently
Desirable Qualification:
- A Certificate III or equivalent International qualification
The salary for all three positions will be well above award in the range of $54,000 to $70,000. Accommodation may also be offered on the farm at Boorowa. All three positions are full-time.
