Gino Poletti Racing is looking for an experience horse breaker/educator who also must be a competent track rider. A current RWWA fast work licence is desired but not a deal breaker. However you must be able to fill all the requirements to gain your RWWA fast licence.
We are based in Gidgegannup, 35 mins from the Perth CBD. We have our own purpose built training track on our property but usually take horses into the Ascot track 2-3 mornings per week for fast work. The applicant would need to be able to travel with the trainer and horses from Gidgegannup to Ascot on those mornings. Then return to the property to continue to work the remaining horses.
The position is predominantly riding and breaking in, but as we also breed horses and do spelling agistment, all staff are required to help in all facets of the business ie stud work, assisting with breeding mares, halter training foals, float training etc.
Applications must adhere to the requirements of Racing and Wagering WA ie be triple vaccinated, and be able to pass drug and alcohol tests.
We need a team player who can assist the younger staff and help make sure we get the very best out of our horses.
Hours are Monday to Saturday, approx 6 hours each morning. Strapping on race days is also required. Payment is on a contract bases but works out to be around $70K pa. gross.
