Hawkes Racing: Experienced Foreperson

Hawkes Racing are looking for a very experienced Foreperson for their Rosehill Stables.

The applicant must have had experience working with Thoroughbreds and have an extensive knowledge of horse husbandry with an accurate eye for detail.

This position is for a full-time person who displays the enthusiasm required to join our highly dedicated team. They must be positive, proactive and be able to take direction as well as working as part of a great team.

Essential Skills:

• All applicants must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience within a foreman’s position or similar.
• Exceptional horsemanship skills, with a proven ability to train and educate young horses.
• Effectively manage and direct a small team of staff.

In addition, the successful applicants’ responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Represent the stable on race days and barrier trials.
• Take full charge of the stables during the trainer’s absence.
• Organise the daily running of morning and afternoon stable routine.
• Liaising with trainers, suppliers, and owners.
• Assist our stable veterinarian.

To be considered for this role you will need:

• Appropriate leadership skills to manage the stable and work effectively within a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
