Abby Downs and Trainer Jeremy Gask, based in the Scone/Muswellbrook area in the Hunter Valley, are seeking a foreperson/assistant to join our team. We currently rear, spell and train up to 40 horses on the property but are looking to develop an on course stable to educate and develop the younger stock on a rotational basis.
The successful applicant will have good experience in racing or pretraining with excellent communication skills and staff management as this role will require a deal of autonomy. They will have a keen attention to detail and a positive attitude with emphasis on continuing a team environment.
The role is full time with a competitive salary dependant on experience and accommodation offered on site or assistance in finding local accommodation.
The position could suit someone, or family, with ambition to train in the future or in partnership. The job demands dedication and flexibility with hours as it would require resposibilty for the horses welfare and may require the applicant to go racing if needed
We are also looking for quality, experienced riders and ground staff to compliment the position thus a couple with the necessary skills would suit also.
