Foreperson – Required
We are a broodmare, racehorse spelling and pre – training farm, located in Coolup Western Australia (1 hour south of Perth). Forge On Park has been in operation for ten years and we take great pride in the work and product we turn out.
Objective
The successful applicant will assist the farm owner – manager and work with and alongside our farm staff. When needed be required to liaise with clients float company’s vets and farrier etc.
At various times be able to competently manage all facets of the farm, in the absence of the owner, this should be considered the single most important component of the role.
Description
Possess excellent communication skills be able to take instruction and positively pass on instructions. A history of managing people within a racing stable, breeding farm or similar would be an advantage, all equestrian applicants will be considered. Have knowledge and experience of horse handling methods specific to broodmares, racehorses, yearlings and foals foaling experience is advantageous but not necessary. Experience in general property repairs and maintenance and the use of general farm equipment to carry out these duties would also be advantageous.
We are seeking a passionate horse person, be reliable, fit and hardworking, you must be flexible have a positive attitude, good work ethic be able to work independently, and be willing to go above and beyond in your role.
Hold a current drivers license ( Inc. Manual) ,with a preparedness to work out of hours and some weekends.
The position requires the successful applicant to live on the farm in the accommodation supplied the position is a permanent role.
Remuneration
Annual salary $70,000 per annum plus superannuation
Rent free accommodation (Excl . electricity – gas) in a comfortable renovated farm house, that can be partly furnished if required.
Four weeks paid annual leave and public holidays.
