Farming and Maintenance Foreman

Muskoka Farms Pty Ltd is a breaking/ pre- training and spelling facility located on the Hawkesbury River, an hour inland from Sydney CBD.

We are looking for someone to fill the role of Farming and Maintenance Foreman. This is a role answerable directly to the Business Manager and involves a great level of organisation and delegation.

Duties include/ but are not limited to:

• Day to day maintenance of a large-scale spelling and pre- training farm
• Management of a small, experienced team
• Paddock and yard upkeep and improvement
• Use of a variety of farming machinery; tractors/ slasher/ forklift/ chainsaws/ generators/ rolls and harrows
• Fencing, both post and rail; and electric
• Operation of irrigations systems, including bores, pumps, and tank relays
• Maintaining the stables complex, Race Track and horse swimmer.
• Workshop stock take and equipment maintenance schedules

Essential criteria include:

• Experience in a similar role: Farming, station work or agribusiness
• Demonstrate a high level of operations knowledge.
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability and a strong sense of responsibility
• Ability to lead and organize a small composite team, as well as work on individual tasks
• Full Drivers Licence, MR or HR and advantage
• Fork Lift and chainsaw certificates an advantage
• Be willing to work with in the WHS guidelines of Racing NSW and Muskoka Farm PTY LTD

Accommodation is available as part of the working package as well as an onsite work vehicle.

Wage is negotiable depending on experience. Start date is expected prior to Christmas.

The farm offers WIFI on satellite NBN network as well as Foxtel TV and full Telstra service to the area.

Wisemans Ferry is only 20 minutes’ drive from the farm and has a public primary school (school bus picks up at the farm gate), general store, Workers Club and Hotel.
