  • Stallion fertility and health examinations and insurances
  • Yearling radiography
  • Yearling upper airway endoscopy
  • Foaling down mares (100+) and primary emergency responder for foaling emergencies
  • First opinion caseloads that include minor surgical procedures, medical illnesses and emergencies, and basic animal husbandry

  • Veterinary Degree
  • Registration with either Queensland or New South Wales Veterinary Board or eligibility for limited registration
  • A minimum of two years’ experience of equine breeding
  • Knowledge and experience specific to thoroughbreds
  • Knowledge of safe operation of all equipment and use of personal protective equipment
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to breeding horses

This position will require weekend and out of hours work; and may require some travel between the Canungra and Murrurundi farms.

What we can offer you:

  • An attractive remuneration package commensurate with experience and qualifications
  • On farm accommodation
  • Support by a fully trained vet nurse and strong stud team
  • In-house blood testing as well as the ability to undertake bacteriological testing on site
