The Company

Within the Australian Thoroughbred Racing Industry, Racing Australia (RA) provides a number of integrated products & services nationally to Principal Racing Authorities (PRA), Race clubs, Owners, Trainers, Breeders, Jockeys and Racing enthusiasts.

RA also fulfils an important role in managing the industry's racing materials (data) on a national basis.

The Role

The Racing Australia Service Centre through its Client Services team is seeking a suitably qualified employee to deliver high quality customer service functions to its customer base.

The role, which works across all teams within the business will include, but not limited to the following responsibilities.

  • Ensure that the operational delivery of Racing Australia products and services is efficient and meets Racing Australia’s commercial, subscriber and customer service obligations.
  • Manage and respond to Racing Australia Client Services telephone requests and emails.
  • Foster strong relationships with all Racing Australia customers.
  • Provide troubleshooting for customers and escalate where required.
  • Proactively support and provide advice to Racing Australia departments as required.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, punctual, and reliable candidate  to take their first steps into a career in the Thoroughbred Racing Industry.

There are some technical components to the role but the successful candidate will have full training and support provided.

Key Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated experience in the delivery of high-level customer service in a fast-paced environment with a strong attention to detail.
  2. Demonstrated experience in providing effective communication with a range of customers both written and orally.
  3. A competent level of operational IT skills and experience within a Windows based environment and Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  4. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  5. A proven ability to work constructively autonomously or within a team.
  6. Knowledge of the Australian Thoroughbred Industry is advantageous, but not essential.
