Broodmare Manager

Ironmere Broodmare Farm is a new farm based in Central Victoria - 30 minutes from Macedon Ranges, 40 minutes from Bendigo and 40 minutes from Seymour/Nagambie. It is also conveniently located 10 minutes from Heathcote, a renowned wine region growing in popularity with tourists. Heathcote has all the makings of a niche town which is progressing in leaps and bounds with all required facilities available.

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Broodmare Farm Manager has become available within our farm! Put your talents to work and leave your mark in the industry as this new farm progresses and grows! You will be an instrumental part in the farms success which has already had black type success from its first few runners.

The role is hands on and will require competence in all facets of Broodmare and Foal Management including but not limited to;

• 3 years experience on a horse breeding operation or equivalent position.
• General care of broodmares and foals.
• Education of foals, weanlings and yearlings.
• Assisting and scheduling of routing vetting, farrier visits, feed suppliers and other related service providers.
• Developing and maintaining feed, vitamin and supplement schedules.
• Administration and coordination of medication.
• Coordination and scheduling of vetting and walk ons with relevant studs.
• Foaling down and postpartum care.
• Undertaking general farm maintenance and associated duties.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Sound knowledge of health and safety in regards to working with horses and associated farm equipment.
