JOB VACANCY - ASSISTANT YEARLING MANAGER

An exciting opportunity is available to join our team at Sledmere Stud. We are currently seeking to appoint a talented and experienced Assistant Yearling Manager.

To be successful in this role, you will need to enjoy both working with horses and the responsibility of ensuring their overall wellbeing. The role will include:

• Raising and preparing weanlings and yearlings for major sales
• Handling, exercising, and the daily care of weanlings through to yearlings.
• Confident in administering treatments and medication
• Assist the Yearling Manager to oversee a small team of staff

In this role, you will have a diverse range of responsibilities in a highly productive team environment. The successful applicant will be required to have the following skills and experience:

• Excellent animal husbandry
• Previous sale preparation is essential
• Able to work in a team and independently
• Ability to manage staff under the direction of the Yearling Manager
• Excellent communication skills
