John Thompson Racing is currently seeking a motivated and capable person to join our team at Randwick as an Assistant Foreman.
This job would suit someone who is ambitious and wanting to take the next step in their career.
The successful candidate’s tasks will include:
- Assist John and the senior foreman in the day to day running for the stable
- Managing and instructing staff
- Supporting team learning and maintaining a good team environment
- Attending race days and barrier trials
- Assisting with veterinary treatments
- Maintaining veterinary records
Essential skills, qualifications and experience:
- Proven experience and knowledge of horse training and care
- The ability to handle and educate thoroughbred racehorses
- Confident providing veterinary care and treatments when required as well as being able to recognise injury and lameness
- Able to work well in a team as well as independently
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge in OH&S and safe handling skills relating to all aspects of horse training
