Description

Cranbourne Turf Club is located in the growing south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne and conducts 25 thoroughbred race meetings annually, whilst also managing Victoria’s largest thoroughbred training centre.

 

The Club has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to complete a Certificate III in Parks and Gardens.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out hedging and landscaping duties as required including planting, mulching, and pruning of trees
  • Carry out handheld spraying and boom spraying of pesticides weeds as required
  • Recognise and report turf diseases, weeds and pests
  • Planting, repairing, aerating, fertilising and top-dressing lawns
  • Operate machinery and equipment

 

Skills and attributes:

  • Genuine interest in horticulture
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Have a good attention to detail and communication skills
  • Committed to the study component of the Apprenticeship
  • Enjoy outdoor work
  • Diligence and commitment to achieved desired standards.
