Cranbourne Turf Club is located in the growing south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne and provides dining and hospitality at all 25 race meetings it conducts annually, as well as various functions and events. The Club also operates a Meal Delivery service, cooking hundreds of meals each week for local residents.


The Club has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to complete a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and join our fantastic catering team.


Key responsibilities

  • Assisting chefs in the preparation and cooking of meals
  • Training to learn procedures and duties in food preparation
  • Working under the supervision of the chefs
  • Operating commercial cooking equipment such as mixers, steamers, fryers, ovens and stoves
  • Serves food when required
  • Kitchen cleaning, such as dish washing and equipment cleaning, sanitation
  • Assists in other areas of food preparation and storage


Skills and attributes:

  • Passion for food
  • A strong desire to secure a long-term career as a chef
  • A keen interest in learning all facets of the hospitality environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Committed to study component of Apprenticeship
  • Have good attention to detail and communication skills
