Description

Thoroughbred Racing SA Limited (TRSA) is the Principal Racing Authority and administers and regulates thoroughbred horse racing in South Australia. TRSA seeks applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of an Administrative Assistant in the Stewards Department.

This is a 0.8FTE position and affords the successful candidate an opportunity to join a dedicated team within a progressive racing environment.

 Reporting & Key responsibilities: Reporting to the Chairman of Stewards, the key responsibilities of the position are:

  • Provide administration support to Stewards department.
  • Transcribe steward’s reports.
  • Transcribe steward’s inquiries and investigations.
  • Process ownership registrations, transfers, leases and syndicates.
  • Type correspondence as required.
  • Maintaining databases/records as required.
  • Deal with general enquiries.
  • Other duties as directed from time to time.

 Key skills, experience and attributes: The successful applicant will demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in transcribing reports.
  • Experience in maintaining records and data.
  • Demonstrated experience in working in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, which facilitate effective interaction with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the principles of customer service.
  • Competence with the Microsoft Office suite of products, email and the internet.
  • Ability to think laterally and independently.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • A general knowledge of the thoroughbred racing industry would be considered an advantage.

Working hours:

 The position will require work outside normal business hours, including on some weekends and public holidays.

The successful applicant will be required to undergo a probity check.  The provision of disclosure statements will also be required.

Remuneration:

The successful applicant will be provided a remuneration package commensurate to their relevant experience.
